Annie's car has had a brake issue for some time.

Awful grinding scraping sounds and a severe shudder when you step on them.

Drop it off at the Chebby dealer this morning to get them checked.

Just got the call... says all four rotors are warped and it needs pads all the way around.

$523 for fronts, $496 for rears!

Are they flucking kidding me?

The car:

04 Malibu LS
37K

Had similar symptoms in '06 at 17K and dealer replaced rear rotors at no charge because they were pitted and rusted.

Said they should not be at that age and mileage.

20K miles and it ate up a second set of REAR rotors and pads?

I'll give you needing front pads at 37K, but not paying $523 for it.

Looks like I am off to AZ/AA/NAPA/CQ this afternoon. :banghead:

Actually... YES.

GET RID OF THE SHIT MALIBU my brother has one and it has been brake issue after issue after issue...just wait, it gets better with more miles.

I have talked to some other people who said the same thing.

Apparently OE rotors bring the suck.

Not a problem... will be replaced with something name-brand from the parts store.

Not gettin' rid of it any time soon, its actually not a bad car. Rides nice, great gas mileage (32-35 mpg), a decent sized baby-hauler... and it's paid for.

Heh.
