Some of y'all know my wife and I are building a new house....it's coming along quite well and we're shooting for a mid to late June close and move-in. I can't give a specific date yet, but I'd like to invite anyone to the move-in party at the new place, which is roughly 1.2 minutes away from our place now

We need as many hands as we can get, plus trailers/XJ/YJ/ZJ/MJ's or anything you can haul crap in. My goal is to have everything moved in three hours at the most, and then party down. I'll feed you FAT, beer and/or soda you up, and generally show you and yours a great time. I'm thinking filet mignon, ribs, chicken, and shrimps on the grill (may throw a pork shoulder in the smoker too) and more booze than you can shake a stick at. The two biggest things that need hauled are a 37" console TV from hell, and our new refrigerator.....all of the rest of the appliances are staying (got all new ones in the new house already). I've already got all my Jeep crap moved out to a storage facility down the road, so we don't have to fool with any of it, but we do have a ton of boxes and furniture to go.

Location is Chester, VA off exit 58B on '95. Our subdivision is very easy to get to, we're right off I95 about 3 minutes. If anyone wants to make a junkyard run too, bring your toolbox and your wallet.

Be there or be talked about

just talked to the contract construction manager.....it's really looking like the weekend of the 20th. Barring any catastrophies, our final walkthru is scheduled for the 11th, and depending on how much crap I find wrong or that needs fixing, we should be closing on the 16-17th. That'll give me a couple days to get in there and put down the floor kit on the garage floor (complete with the ghey rainbow speckles) :)

Now we just have to nail the finance rate and lock.....we're targeting 4.0%

I should still have my borrowed 5' x 10' trailer...

And Saturday the 20th would rock for me... I am on my 5-day break!

Sorry, Jeff...(especially since you're having strippers, lol!) A good friend of ours is getting married that day, so I am going to be tied up with that.

Maybe if the reception ends early, I'll swing by for a night cap if you guys are still up.

Also sending you a PM....

OK....the move date has been moved to the 27th....too much shit to settle before we go to close to get it done on the 20th.

Come, lift a box, move a refrigerator, drink some booze and eat a steak (or ribs, or chicken, or shrimp.....)

WTF work......wimp :)

Pull a kelly day, bring da wife and critter too (leave the cats and hounds though, they may cause anarchy with our varmints).

I'll make it worth your while, trust me.....

:tgif:

Benz0......where ya at??? I've got enough booze and food to even keep you satisfied...all you have to do is move a refrigerator and a "small" console TV to get at it all:agree: Sarah only has to consult with the women folk on what color towels would look best in the crapper.....

They screwed up here on the side and went way over the property line (see the stake by the hydrant?)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v220/mjeff87/house/sod002.jpg

That caused them to run short in the back…..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v220/mjeff87/house/sod007.jpg

So the construction manager is going to have them finish off their screwup all the way to the silt fence (for free) and then have them finish off the back as planned.

I’m actually kind of enjoying this whole house-building adventure

C'mon down, we'll all be there

Going for the final walkthru today at 1:00.....we went crazy with the blue tape last Friday and they needed four days to fix everything we found wrong (including installing a new microwave, after my wife opened it and discovered some subcontractor was using it to heat his lunch up in......asshole).

Well... how many more days do they need after the "final" walk-thru?

I know you found more stuff... (I've watched my parents go through TWO house-buildings).

If you need a hand this weekend lemme know.

And as I said... Next Friday and Sunday I am all yours if you need me.

Or the POS Chebby.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE.......

Closing is not going to happen until early next week.......so we won't be moving until NEXT weekend

So, if anyone was planning to come this weekend, don't. Well, you're more than welcome to come by but we won't be moving anything.

Sorry.....

lemme know who all can make it next weekend (yes, I realize it's the 4th of July......but if we start early I know we can be done by noon, and I'll DEFINATELY make it worth your while :))

Well, it's officially official.....we close tomorrow afternoon. I'll probably work Tuesday and maybe a half day on Wednesday, then I'll take off through next Tuesday. My wife and I can get most of the boxed stuff and whatnot up during the week, just need help on Sat/Sunday with the furniture.

Went to Lowe's/Home Despot four times between yesterday and today, total so far is right around $500 (blinds, shower curtain rods, garage floor sealer, deck stain, etc...)

This weekend is the official move......spent 5 1/2 hours today laying down the epoxy on the garage floor so it can cure by then. Had to spend all day yesterday with the power company diggin up my new sod in the front yard..we lost a phase....the dickhead gas company nicked the trunk lines when they dug and ran the gas line to the house.

Sonzabichez

If you can help out for a few hours early Saturday morning I can really use the help, post up if ya can. If you can't help but just wanna swing by later in the day and grub and drink up, that's fine as well......we're gonna have a good time all day long
