Hey all,

Kind of been a lurker for a while on here. Not much time for the Jeep with working full time and full time MBA program.
I am sick of dealing with the carb on my 360 in my 79 CJ7. I am going to buy a TBI kit - going with either affordable-fuel-injection (http://www.affordable-fuel-injection.com/) or howell (http://howellefi.com/customer/home.php).
I normally would go DIY route, but time is something I don't have tons of right now and this way everything is new and/or tested.

Both seem to get decent reviews, of course you really only hear about those that holler about bad stuff....
The AFI kit with custom distributor would be $1375 delivered, where the howell kit is $1400 - no distributor + shipping.
Seems like no brainer unless anyone has any feedback..

Thanks
Joe

Heard nothing but good about AFI...and it's all GM stuff that you can get at any parts store for replacement parts. All off a TBI 350 with custom computer from what I recall.

That is what I was thinking.... It kills me to spend that kind of $$ but after I figure getting everything from CAP and replacing a bunch of sensors and getting a chip burned, etc. I would probably be around the $700 range and in for god knows how many hours. In the end, is it worth about 500-700 to get it all in 2 weeks and spend a day or two in the garage and be ready to go? yup.... :)

I'm looking at a CJ with a 401, and if I get it, the AFI kit is the one i'll be doing, FWIW
