1974 CJ5 Crawler

Anyone interested in my almost complete project? I have over 7k in parts in the past 2 months while building it onlyto find the motor has no compression on #4 and 5.
Specs:
Waggy 44 front, 4:10, detroit, 1/4 wall tie rod and draglink, 1 ton TREs
Scout rear 44 with 4:10s and spool.
Set up SUA, with waggy springs up front and CJ rear lift springs out back. All HD shackles and new bushings. All springs and mounts new.
Scout steering box, 4 wheel disc brakes, corvette MC and CJ booster, All new brakelines and flex lines. New front bumper/crossmember that the shackles hang off of. New rear bumper/swing away tire carrier.
33" BFG muds (85%) (5) on white wagon wheels.
LED tail lights.
Truck Avenger Carb on Edelbrock Intake, HEI, Optima Red Top. All new motor parts like Radaitor, Water pump etc...
Wheelbase is set a 90" on bilstein shocks and ford mounts.
All guages work. Sweet old school crawler type that drove great on the street.

I have over 7k in new parts list above...so 4k is what I'd feel is a good middle ground before I part it out.

It comes with a NP 435 built by Novak with the Billet Dana 20 adapter, pilot bushing, shifter and bellhousing to bolt to the AMC motor. (over $1500 new) Grab a 360 or rebuild the 304 and bolt up the tranny and you are set.

Currently has a T15 tranny that works fine, but the 435 has a nearly 7:1 first gear.

Let me know. It drove great before I tore it down and then when I did the HEI and Carb and replaced the intake gasket to replace 2 bent push rods. It's likely just the heads that need to be rebuilt from a bad valve. I can get a 360 that just needs to be put back together for $100 if that helps you make up your mind.

Comes with a Meyers hard top that needs paint and put back together.

I see on craigs list you posted the axles separately. Are you still considering this? But the bigger question would these axle bolt right under my wide track 84 cj7? I see the front is a narrow trac but from a wagonner. I guess my main question is would these axle work on my cj? Thanks.

I can part it, but want to wait a few days to make sure no one wants the whole thing. The front axle will need to be outboarded to fit. Spring perches are 31.5" on center, notthe 27ish for a CJ.
I used Ruff Stuff brackets.

You said the front would need to be outboarded? What exactly is this and what would it involve? Other than outboarding would the bolt right up? Thanks.

yup..other than outboarding, it and all of the brakes etc will bolt right up. You have a CJ, right. I used a Mountain Offroad kit for a CJ7 on my commando and it was bolt on. I used ruff stuff brackets this time and welded them on. This runs 4 wheel discs, so your brakes may need some tweeks. I have a corvette MC and CJ booster that are 10% new that I can do as well if the price is right. The corvette MC has equal size ports front and rear and work with no prop valve. Great stopping.

let me know...I have 3 folks interested in the axles, but the first one with $$$ gets them...and local will be easier than waiting for people to come down and get them.

the upside...if you ever wantto go bigger than dana 44s, with the springs outboarded, you can bolt in a dana 60 anytime you want.
FYI, these are set up for both SUA and SOA.

I have new bistein 5100 shocks and a tons of other parts if you are interested.

I even have a guy in raleigh that has a rebuilt 360 I can get for $750, bolt it to the NP435 and the project is done..ditch your jeep, getthis one, and all the work is done :)
