Anyone interested in my almost complete project? I have over 7k in parts in the past 2 months while building it onlyto find the motor has no compression on #4 and 5.
Specs:
Waggy 44 front, 4:10, detroit, 1/4 wall tie rod and draglink, 1 ton TREs
Scout rear 44 with 4:10s and spool.
Set up SUA, with waggy springs up front and CJ rear lift springs out back. All HD shackles and new bushings. All springs and mounts new.
Scout steering box, 4 wheel disc brakes, corvette MC and CJ booster, All new brakelines and flex lines. New front bumper/crossmember that the shackles hang off of. New rear bumper/swing away tire carrier.
33" BFG muds (85%) (5) on white wagon wheels.
LED tail lights.
Truck Avenger Carb on Edelbrock Intake, HEI, Optima Red Top. All new motor parts like Radaitor, Water pump etc...
Wheelbase is set a 90" on bilstein shocks and ford mounts.
All guages work. Sweet old school crawler type that drove great on the street.
I have over 7k in new parts list above...so 4k is what I'd feel is a good middle ground before I part it out.
It comes with a NP 435 built by Novak with the Billet Dana 20 adapter, pilot bushing, shifter and bellhousing to bolt to the AMC motor. (over $1500 new) Grab a 360 or rebuild the 304 and bolt up the tranny and you are set.
Currently has a T15 tranny that works fine, but the 435 has a nearly 7:1 first gear.
Let me know. It drove great before I tore it down and then when I did the HEI and Carb and replaced the intake gasket to replace 2 bent push rods. It's likely just the heads that need to be rebuilt from a bad valve. I can get a 360 that just needs to be put back together for $100 if that helps you make up your mind.
